Proji Company is a constituent unit of the "National Engineering Research Center for Protein Technology" of Tsinghua University. It is the first national engineering laboratory established by the National Development and Reform Commission at Tsinghua University. Former President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhou Guangzhao, and the "Father of DNA", Nobel laureate James D. Watson served as honorary directors of the laboratory, with Professor Luo Yongzhang serving as the director. -

In December, the National Engineering Research Center for Protein Technology was established in collaboration with Tsinghua University.

In December, the recombinant human serum albumin project was approved for clinical trials.

In June, Yantai Protgen Medical Testing Company was established.
2016
In May, the tumor marker Hsp90α was listed among the top ten breakthroughs in basic science since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
