The "In Vitro Diagnostics Yantai Conference, 2025," jointly hosted by the National Engineering Research Center for Protein Technology and the School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University, and undertaken by Yantai Progene Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd., was successfully held recently in Yantai, Shandong. The conference brought together authoritative experts and scholars from basic research, clinical medicine, and industrial transformation to discuss the innovative directions and industrialization paths of in vitro diagnostic technology.
Focusing on the forefront of Hsp90α research, leading the development of precision diagnosis
The conference agenda revolved around basic research on the molecular structure, dynamic characteristics, and functional mechanisms of Hsp90α. Several internationally renowned experts pointed out that Hsp90α, as a key regulatory protein, plays an important role in the occurrence and development of tumors, and its biomarker detection technology provides a new approach for early cancer screening. Clinical experts, through case studies of typical cancers such as liver cancer and lung cancer, systematically demonstrated the high sensitivity and specificity of Hsp90α and other biomarkers in clinical practice, providing important clinical evidence for the research and optimization of diagnostic reagents.
Deepening multi-dimensional application cooperation of Hsp90α
During the conference, top scholars in the global Hsp90α research field engaged in in-depth discussions and reached the following consensus:
1. Significant advantages of Hsp90α detection: Compared with traditional biomarkers, Hsp90α can cover more cancer types, including liver cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer, and exhibits superior sensitivity and specificity.
2. Target value of Hsp90α: The content of Hsp90α in the blood is closely related to disease progression, and its potential as a drug target and the use strategies of its inhibitors have attracted widespread attention.
3. Breakthroughs in structural and functional research: Hsp90α exhibits high dynamism in solution and is closely related to its function; it regulates proteins in cells, intervenes in mitochondrial homeostasis and function, participates in tumor cell proliferation and metastasis; and interacts with intracellular novel structural albumin bodies, affecting cell metabolism.
The experts attending the meeting unanimously stated that in the future, they will carry out cross-field cooperation focusing on the basic research, clinical transformation, and industrial application of Hsp90α, jointly promoting the upgrading of diagnostic technology.
Industry-academia-research collaboration, opening a new chapter in in vitro diagnostics
This conference not only built a bridge between academia and clinical practice but also demonstrated the enormous potential of industry-academia-research collaborative innovation. The director of the National Engineering Research Center for Protein Technology pointed out: "Research on tumor biomarkers represented by Hsp90α is providing key technological support for early diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the era of precision medicine."
