Proji Company is a constituent unit of the "National Engineering Research Center for Protein Technology" of Tsinghua University. It is the first national engineering laboratory established by the National Development and Reform Commission at Tsinghua University. Former President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhou Guangzhao, and the "Father of DNA", Nobel laureate James D. Watson served as honorary directors of the laboratory, with Professor Luo Yongzhang serving as the director. -

It is a high-tech enterprise founded by returned overseas students and a subsidiary of Beijing Proji Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd. The company is dedicated to the research, development, production, and sales of in-vitro diagnostic reagents and medical health products with independent intellectual property rights and international competitiveness, providing high-end and comprehensive medical testing services.
Yantai Protgen Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") was established in 2009. It is a high-tech enterprise founded by returned overseas students and a subsidiary of Beijing Protgen Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd. The company is dedicated to the research, development, production, and sales of in-vitro diagnostic reagents and medical health products with independent intellectual property rights and international competitiveness, and provides high-end, comprehensive medical testing services.
The Company cooperates with Tsinghua University to build an integrated innovation operation system encompassing production, academia, research, and service. It was the first in the world to prove that Hsp90α is a novel broad-spectrum tumor marker, and developed the world's first clinically available quantitative detection product for heat shock protein 90α (Hsp90α), used for clinical detection of lung and liver cancer, and outperforming commonly used lung and liver cancer detection products. This product has obtained the national Class III medical device certificate and passed the EU CE certification. The achievements have been granted 20 domestic and international invention patents, selected as one of the "Top Ten Innovative Achievements in Zhongguancun 2013," and praised by James Watson, the discoverer of the DNA double helix structure and Nobel laureate, as "a big step towards conquering cancer." It was also listed by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a major original achievement in the "Glorious Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and included by General Secretary Xi Jinping in his speech at the "Science and Technology Three Conferences" in 2016 as one of the ten fundamental scientific breakthroughs since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Simultaneously, the company has developed a series of chemiluminescence-based tumor quantitative detection reagent products and established an immunoassay product technology platform.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, relying on the National Engineering Research Center for Protein Technology, the company successfully developed a new disinfectant product, "Progeny Disinfectant," in 2022. This product is characterized by broad-spectrum efficacy, no side effects, no drug resistance, and environmental safety, fundamentally guaranteeing the environmental safety of the people and promoting the implementation of the health strategy.
In 2018, a wholly-owned subsidiary, Yantai Protgen Medical Testing Co., Ltd., was established. In 2019, the "Yantai Protgen Medical Testing Laboratory" was approved. It has successively obtained testing qualifications for clinical biochemistry, clinical immunology, clinical cytogenetics, pathogenic biology (BSL-2), clinical gene amplification (PCR), clinical microbiology, and clinical fluid and blood testing, and is the first third-party independent medical laboratory in Yantai Development Zone to provide multi-item clinical testing services.
The company will uphold the mission of "Making humanity healthier and life more dignified," and strive to develop into a leading biotechnology enterprise integrating multiple detection technology platforms and spanning multiple industry applications, with a spirit of precision and excellence.
